Apuntes sobre la familia Lopez-Portillo

From the ancient Roman Empire to the Spanish Reconquista (in medieval Spain and Portugal) to the conquest of the New World (New Spain-Mexico) or fighting the pirates on board their own ships in the treacherous seas of the Philippines (Malaysia and the Philippines still share what some call Asia's most dangerous sea). A family of knights and Conquistadors, of politicians, scholars and military men, they left traces of their adventures. Here I share some of them.

"DE MI DESIDERIO GODO Y DEL REY WAMBA SOBRINO DESCIENDE ESTA CASA EN TODO POR LÍNEA RECTA Y CAMINO" a motto that is part of the Lopez-Portillo family tradition, connected to King Wamba  (Medieval Latin: VVamba, Vamba, Wamba; c. 643 – 687/688) was the king of the Visigoths from 672 to 680.
